Hi there!

I’m Madison (she/her/hers). I am a recent graduate of the Maine College of Art’s Master of Arts in Teaching program. I live in Portland, Maine and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of Vermont where I focused on painting and graphic design.

My current studio practice involves painting with acrylic on wood panel and my work explores the relationship between color and portraiture. It is important to me that I am an active artist as well as an art educator. While I’ve always had a deep love and appreciation for art, teaching is a newfound passion of mine. I believe that art educators have the ability to not only inspire their students, but also instill a creative confidence that sticks with students and encourages them to trust their inner artist.

Through Maine College of Art's Masters of Art in Teaching program, I have learned how to bring my passion for the visual art world into teaching. As an artist and educator, I believe that the art classroom is a place of collaboration, exploration, and play.
